Chester was born at Charity Hospital at 11:55pm. He was a beautiful 7'8" baby boy. He was born a little pale, so much so that he was almost taken home by a white family who's family name was close to Reeder. Unfortunately Chester could not go home with me because he was diagnosed with jaundice. Fortunately after spending a few days under the billirubin light, he was fine and was able to come home. What an incredible experience to have given birth and to be able to bring home and mother such a beautiful baby boy. From day one I knew he would be special. (of course all mothers say that). I went to Mom's to recover and to have help with Chester. I stayed there about 4 weeks. Finally she said. "Deborah, you need to go home. You forgot you got a husband too?" "Ahh Damn" I was thinking to myself! "Do I really have to go home?"
